Shanna Gay Rice

    Shanna Gay Rice, age 71, of Myton, passed away August 15, 2019, at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.
    She was born March 14, 1948, in Green River, Wyoming, to Norman Charles and Reita Ames Workman.  She married Norman Lee Rice, in 1973, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    Shanna had a huge heart of gold and was friendly and willing to help everyone.  She had beautiful twinkling blue eyes and a warm smile.  She had a way with children and animals loved her.  She adored her children, grandchildren, and family and took good care of them.  She was an excellent cook , especially of cinnamon rolls, bread, and other sweets.  She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, being in the outdoors, and hunting when she was younger.  She was often reading and educating herself about many things.  She was an active member of the Church and really liked to be part of the ward choir.  
    Shanna was a great woman and the world is an emptier place without her.
    She is survived by her husband, Norman, of Myton; children, Kirk Rice, Washington; Lee (Ted) Berg, Ft. Duchesne; Kim Rice, California;13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Julie (Carl) Umphenour, Myton; Jake (Aaron) Workman, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Charlie (Marla) Workman, and Calvin (Kathie) Workman.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Randy Workman; a sister, LaRue Bolden; and a son, Earl Rice.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019,  at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  There will be a viewing on Tuesday  from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m.
    Burial will be in the Ioka Cemetery.
