Lucy Mortensen

Lillian Lena Lucille “Lucy” Tibbs Mortensen, age 52, of Cedarview, passed away October 31, 2020, at her home.
She was born October 6, 1968, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Roland Eugene and Sally Allen Tibbs, and was raised, in part, by her aunt, “Suz,” and her grandmother, Lillie Allen.  She met Parley Dee Mortensen in 1990 and they were married on October 31, 1997, in Roosevelt.
Lucy was a very hard worker and loved her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She worked at Stewart’s Care and Rehabilitation and at the Uintah Basin Home Health and Hospice and she truly adored those she worked for and with.  Her passions included caring for everyone else, far before ever thinking of herself. She had an extensive garden and loved having her grand babies by her side.   She also had a talent for welding and did that in her younger days.  She enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking, and loved animals, especially her dogs.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Parley Mortensen of Cedarview; children, Amanda Hague (Dawni Kraus), Salt Lake City; Cody Mortensen (Brad Haslem), Murray; Kelly (Ronnie) Mortensen, Roosevelt; grandchildren, Lynzi, Kaydence, Quintin, Hunter, Remington, Knox; mother, Sally Tibbs, Roosevelt, and her beloved dog, “King.”
She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Tibbs; brothers, Eric & Joey Tibbs, “Aunt Suz”, grandmother, Lillie Allen; and her two dogs, “Bear” and “Charcoal.”
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.  There will be a viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.  Please remember to wear a mask if attending the services and to follow proper social distancing.
Following the service, she will be cremated.
