Fred B Evans returned to his heavenly family on Father’s Day, June 21, 2020, at his home in Arcadia, Utah.
Fred was born in Roosevelt, Utah to Ardon and Ruth Lusty Evans on August 24, 1941. He married Angeline Lewis on August 12, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. Growing up, he worked on the farm with his family, earned his Eagle Scout, and excelled at many sports in high school and college. He served an honorable mission in the Gulf States Mission. He graduated from BYU, becoming a seminary teacher, yet he never stopped his love of learning. He taught seminary for 28 years throughout the Uintah Basin. To many, he was affectionately known as “Bro” Evans.
One of the highlights of his life was the time he spent visiting the Holy Land with his eternal companion. He spent his free time ranching, farming, and wrangling kids. Family was most important to him. He had a kind, gentle way of mentoring and guiding his family and others by his quick wit and quirky sense of humor.
He was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and had a deep understanding and love of the gospel. He served as bishop, high councilor, and stake patriarch. He also served a mission in Croatia with his sweetheart. They loved the people and the country they served in. He spent the last fifteen years as a dedicated missionary, serving in the Vernal Temple as an ordinance worker and as a Family Search specialist.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Ardon and Ruth Evans and his siblings: Clara, Edwin, Baird, and Ann.
Fred is survived by his wife Angeline and their children; Karryn (Roy), Julie, Alison (Bill), Roger (Tania), Ruth (Ammon), Kristie (John), Robert (Pam), Sharleen, Edwin (Jana); 37 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
