Buffy Michele Arrowchis

Buffy Michelle Arrowchis, age 44, of Roosevelt, passed away August 13, 2019 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was born December 28, 1974 in Roosevelt to Michael and Janet Ridley Arrowchis.
Buffy’s favorite color was blue, she enjoyed cooking, gambling, hunting, fishing, camping, spending time in the mountains, going to concerts, and traveling.  She cherished her family and friends and delighted in spending time with them, especially her daughter Evalise.
Buffy was a talented ball player, she enjoyed basketball, volleyball, bowling, and especially softball.  She had a fun personality, enjoyed teasing and making people laugh, and was the best at telling scary ghost stories.  She was on the Ute Tribe 4th of July Pow Wow Committee and liked to attend other Pow Wows, Bear Dances, and Sundances. During the Sundances, she liked to sit in the Sundance corral with her grandmothers, Marjorie, May, and Annie Ridley.  She would help them by running back and forth from the camp to the corral, taking care of grandma’s business and helping the dancers, often by picking peppermint for them.  When Evalise was a little girl, Buffy loved to Bear Dance with her.  It was her happy place.
Buffy had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed karaoke.  When she traveled, she talked the entire time and even sang songs and danced while driving or riding “shotgun.”  She was a caring, loving, thoughtful, and compassionate person who was always willing to help people.  She had fought with courage and will be greatly missed.
Buffy is survived by her daughter, Evalise Lilyanna Given Gutierrez Arrowchis, parents, Janet Arrowchis, Michael (Connie) Arrowchis; siblings, MeLisa Arrowchis (Christopher) Pedreza, Stephanie (Jonathan) Cuch; niece, Sophia Arrowchis; nephew Shaye Wopsock (Chelsey Kidd), and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also had fond memories with her West Jr High Crew: Carla Lee, Jasanna Cuch, Philleen Chimburas, Gayla Murray, Judy Pargeets, Christine Sowsonicut, Shay McCook, Riki Curry, Sherry Hogan, Roneva Valdez and Rachel & Regina Arrowgarp – smoking in the girl’s room....
She was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Angel Arrowchis, brothers, Michael Arrowchis, Jr., Lloyd Carl Arrowchis, Jr., grandparents, Bishop and Dorothy Arrowchis, Benton and Marjorie LaRose Ridley.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Helen’s Catholic Church.  A wake will be held on Friday after 4:00 p.m. at Janet Arrowchis’s home in Richardson Subdivision.
