William Woods Thompson

William Woods “Willie” Thompson, age 65, of Farm Creek, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.

He was born June 7, 1961, in Ely, Nevada, to Andy Thompson and Perlene Behank. Willie. He was a proud Duckwater Shoshone Indian who valued his family, traditions, and heritage. He married Susan Mike, and they later divorced. He married Irene Steele, on June 24, 2004, in Duckwater, Nevada.

Willie was known for his sense of humor, big heart, and willingness to help others. He loved to joke and tease, made friends easily, and would help anyone. He was strong-minded, independent, and lived life on his own terms.

He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the oil fields, mines, and road construction. After recently retiring, he took up gardening and enjoyed more time outdoors.

Willie loved hunting, camping, fishing. He attended the Sundance and played handgames and cards, and laughing with family and friends.

Willie is survived by his wife, Irene, of Farm Creek, Utah; children, Natasia Allison, Duckwater, NV; Savannah Thompson (Travis Johnson), Ely, NV; Amanda (Brian) Hill, Duckwater, NV; Ty (Valery) Thompson, Lincoln, CA; Annie James, Honch Cuch, both of Whiterocks; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Darrell Thompson, Sr.; Alicia Thompson; Rodney Thompson; Stanley Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Cuch; parents, Andy & Perline Thompson; siblings, Roberta Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Wendell Thompson, and Nadine Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. A wake will be held at the Willie Thompson residence, 14000 N 2175 E, Whiterocks, Utah, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. A second wake will be held at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building, Small Loop Road, Ft. Duchesne, Utah, on Friday, August 21, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Red Knoll Cemetery.
