    Wendy Marie Rasmussen, age 49, of Roosevelt, passed away August 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family after a long eight year battle with cancer.
    She was born July 22, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wally and Gwen Graves and raised in their home in Neola, Utah. A beloved surprise pregnancy, she was the youngest of three daughters, and thrived under their love.
    She learned a love for cooking, costumes and Halloween from her mother and carpentry, construction and the outdoors from her father, who both endeavored a life long process of remolding their home which was never fully accomplished. Scott Nickell, a dear family friend described her youth, that she never stopped howling until she was four and then she never stopped smiling thereafter. He always made her promise to marry him when she grew up. She and her sisters dressed up their kitties in dolls clothes practicing the art of motherhood. They played Little House on the Prairie and she never wanted to be Karie, even though her sisters always tried to make her. They fed the chickens together, one with the feed, one with the water and one with a wiffle ball bat to protect against the rooster, which Michelle once knocked out cold in self defense. They loved their many dogs, some more than others, Ace was way better than Major. They swam in the irrigation ditches and canals. They were loved and taught by their extended family and friends in the community.
    After she graduated from Union High School in 1995, she lost her dear mother to diabetes and heart disease. So she choose to stay at home, take classes at the USU extension, work and cared for her widowed Father who had been injured in an excavation collapse. She worked while she struggled to pay for secondary education in Logan at Utah State University in the beautiful Cache Valley, which she dearly loved. After a long distance courtship set up by her brother-in-law with the design of getting her to move home, she married Bart L Rasmussen on December 6, 2002, in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and returned to Roosevelt. She helped complete their home of 24 years (“if you build it she will come”). As a true Home Maker she made it a place of peace and joy where the spirit could come, waking her family with sacred music, classic pop tunes from the 70's and 80's and one of her personal favorites Mom by Meghan Trainor. She would also wake them playing revelry on her plastic toy trumpet, toy accordion, duck whistle, cowbell or even use the spray bottle if needed. In Roosevelt she finished her bachelor degree in business at the Uintah Basin Campus while raising her first two children. She was a true Aggie ….who did cheer for BYU...., but never against the Aggies.
    Wendy was a covenant woman of faith who emulated her Savior Jesus Christ and lived her life in service to others, including her family, beloved neighbors, members of her church and community. She was a friend to all and loved to welcome people into her ward, neighborhood and circle of influence with homemade treats, making many feel loved and accepted. When needed, she worked along side her husband and father-in-law pouring concrete, lightening the mood at the job site, keeping Bart's temper in check and training her children how to do the job right. She had a talented creative mind, which she shared selflessly, through hand made items sewn with love, elaborate escape rooms and other themed decorated activities, custom made birthday cakes, desserts and meals for friends and family alike. She sang and danced for the joy of it. She was a good listener and easy to talk with. She lovingly home-schooled her children, instilling in them a love of literature, until she was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. She loved to support her children and their friends in their dance, drama, sports , FFA and other activities, growing along with them. Whether learning to groom, “style,” and train a steer or goat to lead, organizing little ballerinas back stage, preparing elaborate themed displays for Drama production concession stands, making alterations to costumes or simply cheering on tennis, swim, soccer, cross country or any number of other sports. She found joy in the process, even when quietly working through her own pain. She had a forgiving heart. She was an empathetic mentor and friend to many suffering from illness and facing the terrible injustice of mortality and loss. By facing the unknown courageously with faith and at times with fear, she lived with a determination to be true to and trust in the God that she served. She knew that he had power to deliver her, “but if not”, she trusted him “to give her beauty for the ashes” of her life. She is loved tremendously by many and will be deeply missed.
    Wendy is survived by her husband of 24 years, Bart; children, Grant, McKinley, Jackie, Luke, Quinn, & Hannah, all of Roosevelt: sisters, Michelle & her husband Chet Stevens, Roosevelt; Stephanie Vandver & her fiancee, Dirk Love, Springville; parents-in-law, Paul & LaJean Rasmussen, Neola; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rick & Sarah Rasmussen, Draper; Jeana & Wayne Bonner; Ryan & Amanda Rasmussen, all of South Jordan; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Roosevelt West Stake Center. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 AM at the church.
    Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.
