Vickie Lee Huber Rasmussen, age 71, of Neola, the most kind, loving, thoughtful, compassionate lady passed away May 17, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was diagnosed four and a half years ago and was only given six months to live at that time, but she fought so hard to remain here with her family. She underwent Chemotherapy, surgery, a wonderful Clinical Study that added extra time to her life, another surgery, another Clinical Study and was back on a Chemotherapy they call “The Red Devil,” making weekly trips to Provo & Salt Lake City showing incredible bravery and determination.  She fought so hard and we are so proud of the amazing fight she fought. One of the most remarkable traits of Grams was her generosity. Even during her own battle, she continued to put others first and was always willing to offer words of encouragement. Her selflessness is truly inspiring and a testament to her incredible character.
Vickie was born August 31, 1952, in Roosevelt, Utah to Merlin E and Darlene Lamb Huber. She married Blake Rasmussen on August 1, 1969 in Lapoint, Utah. They were sealed in the Provo Temple on November 25, 1977. He died in a tragic water trucking accident on November 1, 1981.
She had a vivacious spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for family.    She was so proud of each of her children and 12 grandchildren and loved sharing all about them with those she came in contact with. She had a way of making you feel like you were her favorite but we all really know “Precious” is her favorite. If you were loved by Grandma Vickie, then you know how fiercely she loved. She loved all of her honorary grandchildren and loved it when they all called her Grandma Vickie.
Family was everything to Grams and she had always been the glue that held the them together. Her love and devotion to family was unmatched, and she had shown what it meant to prioritize those you hold dear.
Through it all, Grams was a survivor in every sense of the word. Her resilience, courage, and unwavering faith has been a guiding light for all. She was a survivor of life's toughest challenges, and her strength serves as an inspiration to us all. Grams, you are a true hero! We love you Grams!
Vickie’s family would like to thank Dr. Rich, Dr. Maurer, Dr. Call, the staff at Utah Cancer, Intermountain, START Mountain Region, St. Mark’s Hospital, and Canyon Home Care. She loved and appreciated the expert care, compassion and service received.
