VeraLee Bess

VeraLee Bess, age 82, of Altamont, passed away March 26, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.  
    She was born May 15, 1939, in Duncan, Arizona, to Harold Lee and Lillis LaVon Bodell Prigmore.  She married Richard George "Dick" Bess on January 28, 1956, in Murray.  He died December 8, 2015.
    Vera was a homemaker and also the secretary for Dick's plumbing business.  Raising children and helping with the business made up the majority of her life.  She was a patient and kind woman who was a good cook and enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors.  She had a great many dogs that she adored throughout the years.   At the end of her life, she became involved in family history.
    Vera is survived by her children, Robert (Chris) Bess, both of Altamont; Dick Jr. (RaDonna) Bess, Layne (Sandra) Bess, both of Talmage; Pamela (Tim) Carroll, Cindy (Tyler) Webb, both of Altonah; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren with 1 on-the-way; and numerous nieces and nephews.  
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her sister, Imogene LaVon Prigmore; brother, Harold Richard Prigmore, her parents, and step-father, Walter Luthy.
    Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Cemetery.
