Our family lost its heart on January 2, 2026. Vera Hall Murray, age 80, of Jensen, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of selfless love and a family that was made whole by her presence. She has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, George, who died just a few short months ago on August 5, 2025.

Vera was born on April 3, 1945, in Maeser, Utah, into the heart of a close-knit family to Phillip and Thora Hall. She was the fourth of five children and was raised alongside her siblings: Dee, Ivan, Donna, and Wanda. Her upbringing instilled in her the values of a hardworking pioneer spirit and a devotion that would become the hallmarks of her life. From a young age, Vera developed a deep and abiding love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her early devotion to her faith and her commitment to serving others prepared her for the many roles she would fill throughout her life, providing her with a foundation of strength and grace that never wavered.

Long before she had her own children, Vera was already a mother at heart, spoiling her nieces and nephews, caring for them and mothering them with a devotion that was entirely her own. When she married George, she didn’t just gain a husband, she joined a family. She became an instant mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to everyone George held dear. Soon welcoming her own children into the world, she lived by a beautiful philosophy – there was never a distinction of “mine” or “yours,” there was only “ours.” She was the steady hand and the glue that held every branch of the family tree together through every season of life.

Vera’s life was a testament to her faith. She found great joy in serving within the church and cherished her time spent in the temple. This sacred service was the heartbeat of her spiritual life, and the lessons taught there of eternal families and unconditional love were reflected in the way she treated every soul she met.

Famously known as the family’s professional “worrywart,” Vera’s concern was always for the well-being of others. A remarkably hard worker, she spent eight decades ensuring that everyone around her was thoroughly spoiled and cared for. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, her time, or her attention to the smallest details, she had a rare gift for making every person feel they were the most important person in her world.

Known throughout the Uintah Basin for her permanent, radiant smile, Vera possessed a genuine kindness that knew no bounds. She truly never met a stranger; her warmth and spirit made everyone she encountered feel seen and valued.

Vera is survived by her children, Vera Lyn (Lucky) Wall; Brandon (Taylor) Murray; Quinton Murray (fiancé: Debbie Petersen); George (Star) Murray, Jr.; JoAnn (Richard) Winn; MaryBeth (George) Dean; Robert (Connie) Murray; Revon (Gary)Babcock; a sister, Wanda (Norman) Larsen; and numerous grandchildren, great- grands, great-great grands, nieces, and nephews, and other relatives.

She is now joyfully reunited with the many loved ones who preceded her in death: her husband, George; children VickiLyn Searle, ReNae Murray, Rodney Murray; siblings, Dee Hall, Ivan Hall, and Donna Richens.

While we will miss her terribly, we find comfort knowing she is in the company of her Savior, and her many family and friends that she has missed for so long. Her legacy of love remains the glue that holds us together.

We will spend the rest of our lives trying to live up to the example she set remembering her radiant smile and selfless heart.
