Valine Thacker Norton, age 57, of Bluebell, died on December 12, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.
Valine was born on February 15, 1964, to James R and Emegene Wall Thacker. She later married Laine Norton on April 26, 1986, in Eureka, Utah.
Valine lived in Altamont and Bluebell most of her life. She traveled a lot when she was younger, following pipeline jobs with her mom, dad, and brothers. She enjoyed camping and the fall hunting trips when most of the family gathered together for the hunt.
She loved to cook and worked at the hospital for six years cooking in the cafeteria. Valine liked to draw and also make quilts for her family. She was a loyal General Hospital fan, and even in her last weeks she would make sure that someone woke her so that she could watch her soap. Her greatest love was her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Valine battled lupus since she was 15 years old. She was sick and hospitalized often, sometimes for months. She was always in pain, but she always worked through it and kept moving forward.
In 2011 she won her little red truck in Wendover and was so happy to have her own pick-up.
Valine is survived by her husband, Laine, children, Jimmy (Katie) Norton, Altonah; and Josh (Kiesha) Norton, Bluebell; six grandchildren, siblings, Evan Thacker, Denny Thacker, Glenda Hunt, and Randy Thacker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Pete and Lucille Wall, and Leroy and Weltha Thacker, and her brothers, Max and Jesse Thacker.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Viewings will be held on Monday evening from 6 - 8 at the mortuary and on Tuesday from 10 - 10:45 AM prior to the services.
Burial in the Altamont Cemetery.
