Timmy Ray Nielsen

Timmy Ray Nielsen, age 58, of Duchesne, passed away peacefully May 19, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born February 9, 1960, in Roosevelt, to Marvin Eyner and Dorothy Stanley Nielsen.  He married Lorena Mitchell, and they had a son, TC.  They later divorced.   In 1992, he found the love of his life, Terrie Smith, and they have been together ever since.
Tim worked in the oil field in his younger years, then got into driving truck for Burdick Paving.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially in Indian Canyon, where he lived for 15 years.  He loved watching the cows, his dogs, and the big horned sheep that ran wild up Right Fork.  He also really enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and family reunions.
He loved his family very much and especially adored spending time with his grandkids – he was a big kid himself!
Tim is survived by his companion, Terrie Smith, Duchesne; a son, Timothy Chad Nielsen, Atlanta, Georgia; step-children, Summer Smith, Oklahoma; Tony (Emeterio) Smith, Ogden; Doug Smith, Colorado; Timothy (Sarah) Dawson, Duchesne; several grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Jean Landers, Fairbanks, AK; Janet (Donald) Heed, Randy (Connie) Nielsen, and Rodney (Bonnie) Nielsen, all of Duchesne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norvel & Leon Nielsen; a grandson, Noah Chavez; a nephew, Jack Leon Landers; and a niece, Candice Ruth Nielsen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne LDS Stake Center with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
