Stewart Norman Dennis, age 79, of Myton, Utah, passed away March 20,2026, at home after battling cancer.
He was born February 17, 1947, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Howard and Edna Dennis. Shortly after High School graduation he enlisted in the Army and served in the Viet Nam War and received an Honorable Discharge. He was awarded The Army Commendation Medal for Heroism in the Republic of Viet Nam on October 4, !967.
He married his sweetheart, Kaye Moosman, on September 5, l969, in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Logan, Utah for a short time while Stewart attended Utah State University. They moved to Myton when they were expecting their first child. Their little angel, Anja Marie, was born two and a half months early and lived 23 days before returning to her Father in Heaven. Later they were blessed with five more beautiful children: Eric, David, Justin, Amanda and Alicia.
For several years, Stewart was in charge of the Myton Post and Sons of the American Legion. He was responsible for organizing fund raising events and military honors at veteran interments.
He worked at different jobs to support his growing family. For many years up to retirement he drove truck for Chevron. He and Kaye loved to travel on their motorbike and covered many miles with their good friends. Stewart was called to many different church callings and assignments. He was a gifted teacher and loved to pose questions that would invite others to express their thoughts. He loved serving on the High Council for The Church and getting to know and love the people he worked with. He and Kaye served
as temple ordinance workers at the Vernal, Utah Temple for eleven years.
Stewart is survived by his wife Kaye of 57 years; four children: David (Amanda Jo) Dennis, Justin (Amber) Dennis, Amanda (James) Harmston, Alicia (Keith) Young, eleven grandchildren; brother, Bert (Diana) Dennis, sister, Kathy Hardinger, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Dennis, Edna & Lewis Hardinger; two children: Anja and Eric Dennis; and sister, Laurie Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a viewing that morning from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors presented.
