Sherry Riding

    Our beloved mother and grandmother, Sherry G. Riding, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
    Sherry was born on May 13, 1944, in Miami, Arizona, to Dale and Suzie Scott. She married the love of her life, David Riding, on June 11, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah and just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary before his death on July 22, 2024.
    Together they embarked on a journey that would span decades and continents, as David served more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. During that time, Sherry worked tirelessly in countless roles, always placing her family first while adapting to the many changes that military life brought.
    In 1980, after David’s retirement from the military, Sherry and her family made their permanent home in Roosevelt, Utah, where she spent the rest of her years building a life filled with love, service, and cherished memories. Sherry was known as the neighborhood mom, who always had a safe place in her home for the numerous friends her children had.
    Sherry is survived by her three sons: David Jr. of Roosevelt; Bobby (Shanna) Riding of Roosevelt, UT; and Fred Riding of Saratoga Springs. She also leaves behind her sister, Betty Crick of Central Heights, AZ, as well as grandchildren; Brandon Adams, Blake (Tennessee) Riding, Kelsey (Justin) Ackley, Chase (Claire) Riding, Ashlyn Riding (Braden Jeppson), Sean Riding and MaKaylee Riding (Rayder Hoyt); Great Grand Children Camden and Avery Ackley and Evee Riding, due August 18th.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Suzie Scott and brothers, Don, JR, Bobby, and Troy Scott
    Sherry will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and quiet strength. Her legacy lives on in the generations of family who love her deeply and will miss her always.
Per Sherry’s wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time. Graveside services will be at a later date.
