Sherri Lynn Hanberg, age 66, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Bridgeland, passed away September 3, 2023, at Midtown Manor Assisted Living in Salt Lake City.
She was born April 16, 1957, in Salt Lake City, to Cecil Williard and Carol Jean Bleazard Hanberg. Sherri was born deaf and dealt with a few other health issues throughout her life. She was loved and supported by many as she did her best with these challenges. She attended and graduated from the School for the Deaf and Blind in Ogden, Utah. While boarding there, she would come home on weekends during the school year, and would spend the summers at home with her family in Bluebell. After graduating, Sherri served a brief mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She also worked at the Ink Spot in Roosevelt for a few years. Needing additional medical assistance, she moved to Midtown Manor in Salt Lake City where she was well cared for the rest of her life. While there she met, and enjoyed the companionship of Bob Belcher, and they were married for a few years before his death.
Sherri was playful and enjoyed teasing, and being teased, especially with her dad. We are comforted knowing she is now having a happy reunion with her Heavenly Father, her dad, and other family members. She enjoyed crocheting and would make gifts for her family and friends. She also enjoyed going out to eat at restaurants, and spending time with her family. She loved family visits, and coming home to Bridgeland for long stays with her mom and dad as often as possible, especially around the holidays. She was loved by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers. We look forward to that glorious day we can all be together again as a family in a perfected state through the loving gift of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Sherri is survived by her mother, Carol Hanberg; siblings, Darlene Butler, California; Steve (Marcia) Hanberg, Randlett; Nancy (Ken) Moon, Duchesne; Wayne (Jan) Hanberg, Bridgeland; Jeff (Julee) Hanberg, Vernal; Karen (Jason) Nelson, Highland; David (Myndee) Hanberg, Vernal; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil; husband, Bob; and grandparents, Jack & Viola Bleazard and Ray & Elizabeth "Bessie" Hanberg, brother-in-law, Phil Butler.
Sherri will be laid to rest in a family plot at the Bridgeland Cemetery on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 12:30 PM.
