Sharon Lee Schmittroth Alldredge, age 78, of Neola, passed away from Lewy Body Dementia August 7, 2025, at a care center in Provo, Utah.
She was born November 11, 1946, in Murray, Utah, to Nicholas “Bud” and Deonne Fox Schmittroth. She married Phillip Ned Alldredge on October 9, 1970, in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed in the Vernal Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in May of 2004.
Sharon was raised in Millcreek, Utah. She was the oldest of 4 children: Rick, Connie, and Troy. She loved to spend time with her family on fishing and camping trips to Fish Lake and Strawberry Reservoir. She loved to outdo all the cousins by gutting all the fish. She was an amazing ballet dancer that she would spend hours practicing. She actually had an opportunity to dance with Ballet West but she loved something more, HORSES. She graduated from Skyline High School, but much of her youth was spent on The Fox family farm in Murray, where she rode horses as much as she could. Sharon saved up her money and bought a big Buckskin gelding named Sam. She joined the Silver Spurs Riding Club. The Riding club took her to wherever there was a rodeo. The Days of 47 Rodeo grand entry was her favorite. The Silver Spurs Spring Show and Rodeo in Ogden is where she met the love of her life, 7 months later they married in Elko, NV. They spent the rest of their life together through great times and hard times. They moved to the Uintah Basin after buying a ranch in Crescent. A year later they had their baby girl Nichol. After 4 years they out grew the small ranch and moved to their dream home in Clay Basin where they raised Quarter Horses and cattle. Later on in 1987 they moved to their forever home in Neola.
Sharon received a Bachelors of Psychology from the University of Utah, and a Bachelors of Special Education & Master’s degree in School Counseling from Utah State University. She became a Special Ed Teacher for Duchesne County School District. She loved helping students overcome their disabilities. She taught at Tabiona and then became a teacher at the old Roosevelt Elementary, East Elementary, and Roosevelt Middle schools. She then became a counselor for the Vernal Middle School and moved to Union High School, where she would help students with all of their needs until she
retired. She was also an adjunct professor for the Uintah Basin Branch of Utah State University, teaching Psychology 1010. She made it very interesting and became the favorite one to take that class from. She loved teaching and the students.
Sharon loved her family the most. She loved going to rodeos and 4-H shows with her daughter and husband. She was a rodeo queen mom. She timed at the Neola 4th of July Rodeo for several years. She loved horses and has missed riding the last few years. In 2014 her dream came true when she became a GRAM to Danika. She loved her so much. She loved to just watch her run barrels, tie goats, and junior rodeo. She loved to hear Dani sing. Dani’s voice was her Sacred Grove especially in the last days of her life.
Sharon was active in the church and held various callings, serving mostly in the Relief ociety and Primary. She was very loved and will be deeply missed.
