Sandra Lee Workman, age 85, of Vernal, passed away February 19, 2026, at the Beehive Home in Vernal.
She was born May 24, 1940, in Salt Lake City, to Thomas and Zelma Martin Peake. She married Wilford J. Workman on June 12, 1961, in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Provo Utah Temple
Sandra worked for over 34 years as a Secretary for the Ute Indian Tribe Headstart. She loved her job and her coworkers. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening – both vegetable and flower– canning what she grew, and cooking. She was an avid reader. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. She loved her family and was the best mom and the most amazing grandmother! Everyone who met her, loved her.
She is survived by her children, Tina (Glen) Hemstreet, Vernal; Leonard (Becky) Workman, St. George; LaRae (Steve) Harrison, Lehi; Glen (Evelyn) Workman, Roosevelt; Royal (Lawana) Workman, Leeds; Carla Workman, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Wilkes, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford; her parents; two brothers, Dennis & Tommy Peake; and a grandchild, Mikal Workman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 pm at the Ballard Chapel. There will be a viewing from 11-11:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Bluebell Cemetery.
