Ruth Nielsen

    Annona Ruth Nielsen, age 92, of Talmage, passed away October 13, 2023, at her home.
    She was born April 12, 1931, in Boise, Idaho, to Roy and Effie Evans Rigby.  She married Albert Warner Nielsen on November 6, 1953, in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They had lived in various parts of the country because Warner had worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. They raised three sons. They moved to Talmage in 1985.  He died on March 9, 2003.
    Ruth had gone to cosmetology school and had worked in collections.  She was a very upbeat, cheerful, and positive person who lived a life of honesty and integrity.  Her bright smile and sense of humor were known by her family and those who knew her best.   She was very determined, but in the nicest way possible!  She was good with her hands and enjoyed doing various crafts and sewing. She liked to garden and maintain her flowers. Ruth was also a cancer survivor.  
    She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ.  She had served in various callings, including in primary and Relief Society, sang in the choir, and from 1987-1989 served with Warner in the Nashville Tennessee Mission. 
    Ruth is survived by her sons, Robert Nielsen, Salt Lake City; Mark & Don Nielsen, both of Talmage; a granddaughter, Michelle; a great-granddaughter, Mariah; siblings, Kenneth (Ann) Rigby; Maureen (LeRoy) Elliot, both of West Bountiful; Dale Evans (Julia) Rigby, Ivins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner, a sister, Mary Ellen Johnson; and her parents.
    Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Talmage Cemetery with a small visitation.
