Russell Frank Lee, age 76, of Mountain Home, died July 2, 2024, from an apparent heart attack doing what he loved to do: checking on his horses.
He was born December 6, 1947, in Logan,Utah to William and Christine Hester Lee. He married Janet Louise Corbridge on July 25, 1967, in Cedar City, Utah and were later sealed in the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In the early years of their marriage, Russell worked in the construction field while finishing his college degree.  He loved serving the people, first as a highway patrol officer for 26 years and then as a private contractor in Law Enforcement Education in Iraq and Afghanistan where he helped train cadets that were in their police academy. He used his expertise to teach expert marksmanship when shooting.
Russ then became a deputy Sheriff for Duchesne County. He also has been a concealed weapons carrier instructor for many years and was a competition shooter in the Utah Peace Officers Association where he was awarded the “Governor’s Twenty” many times over.

He served as a delegate at the County and State Republican Conventions representing the people for the country that he loved.

He and Janet lived all over Utah including Cedar City, St. George, Beaver, Wendover, and finally settling in Mountain Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and being in the mountains. But his favorite hobby was loving and spending time with his horses. He was very loved and will be deeply missed.

Russell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet, of Mountain Home; Russhell Sorensen, Roosevelt; Russell Frank (Janette) Lee II, Kingston, Utah; Rhonda (Jeff) Humphries, Cedar City; Rebecca (Brett) Johnson, South Carolina; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard A. Stalls, Washington DC; Karen (Butch) Marsalis, Texas; Meredith Kay (David) Kowalski, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Brian; and his parents.
