Roy Linford Mitchell

    Roy Lindford Mitchell, age 93, of Upalco, passed away April 15, 2018 in Salt Lake City.
    Roy, known to everyone as “Lin,” was born June 24, 1924 in Upalco to Henry Levi and Vernetta Marett Mitchell.  He married Myra Iorg Cartrette on February 5, 1949.  She died November 12, 2017.  
    He served honorably in the Navy during WWII.  He worked for Duchesne County for 32 years, 30 of those years as County Road Supervisor.
    Lin is survived by his children, Kim & Karen Cartrette, Claudine & Richard Grimsdell, Travis & Terri Mitchell, Shane & Julie Mitchell, son-in-law, Roger Brewer,  15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra; daughter, Sheryl Jon Brewer, granddaughters, Karen Nicola Cartrette, and 8 siblings, Violet Jordan, Doris Pulley, Marie Barney, Kenneth, Floyd, Dean, Gerald, and Clinton Mitchell.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont LDS Chapel.  Viewings will be held at the church on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
    Burial in the Upalco Cemetery with military honors presented by the Altamont American Legion and the Navy Honor Guard.
