Our loving husband, father, and papa, Rodney Glenn Bailey passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 25, 2026, after a brief but valiant fight against an aggressive form of cancer. He was born on September 8, 1966, in Montrose, Colorado, to Niel and LaRae Bailey.

Rodney met Michelle Stark at a friend’s wedding, and they began dating shortly after. They married in the Provo Utah Temple on February 2, 1990. They were blessed with three children, Ashley, Lindsey, and Jaden, who were the light of their lives. As a family, they created many memories and traditions. They loved going to plays, the Festival of Trees, concerts, Stadium of Fire, boating, Lagoon, camping, and picnicking outdoors. Because “everything tastes better outdoors!” In recent years, Rodney gained the title of Papa. He loved his four grandchildren so much. He took his role very seriously and would do anything to make them laugh and ensure they were having a great time.

One of his greatest loves was spending time outdoors. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, camping, and Dutch oven cooking with his dad, brothers, and son. He was always quick with a story about an adventure he recently had.

Education was very important to Rodney. He attended Duchesne High School, Snow College, and Utah Valley Community College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business.

He worked 27 years for Western Area Power Administration. He began his career there in 1999 and worked in various positions. Most recently he was a member of the Senior Leadership Team and was named WAPA’s first CRSP Regional Manager. He loved his job and cared deeply for those he worked with. He always gave his best and encouraged his team to “Go forth and do good”.

Rodney was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many capacities throughout the years including as a missionary in the Georgia Atlanta Mission, a young men’s leader, a scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and bishop.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Michelle. His three children, Ashley (Adam) Bernards, Lindsey (Cameron) Dower, and Jaden Bailey. His grandchildren, Harper, Oakley, Finley, and Beau. His parents: Niel and LaRae Bailey. His brothers: Scott Bailey and Craig Bailey.

Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Foote, at Tanner Clinic, and Dr. Jason Stinnett and his staff at Utah Cancer Specialists for their loving care at this time.
