Roderick Allen Zamora, age 58, of Ouray, Utah, passed away suddenly on October 2, 2025, at the University of Utah Emergency Room in Salt Lake City.
He was born November 12, 1966, in Roosevelt, to Julian Zamora and Rosita Myore. He married Judy Ann Green, with whom he had children. They later divorced. He then he had several loving companions, his current being Karen Smith of California.
Roderick was a maintenance man at the Ute Indian Tribe. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and hanging out with his family. He was a “Mr. Fixit” and was an avid WWE Wrestling fan – if there was a match, then the TV was on that channel. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tease, and was a great story teller – some of them were true. He often dressed as Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny for Tribal events and for his nieces and nephews. He participated in Pow Wows, Sundances, and Bear Dances. He was very loved and will be deeply missed.
Roderick is survived by his children, Tony Murray, Jessica Zamora, both of Ouray; Jason Murray, Salt Lake City; 2 grandchildren; many loved siblings and nieces and nephews; and special cousins and “partners in crime,” Rachael Garza & Brandy Bunnel.
He was preceded in death by a son, Theo Zamora, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Myton Community Building. There will be a wake on Monday, after 4 p.m., at the community building.
Burial will be in the Myton Cemetery.
