Richard Dean McCauley, age 61, of Roosevelt, passed away January 20, 2026, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1964, in Murray, Utah, to Eugene and Elizabeth McCauley. At the age of 18 he served in the US Army.
Dean worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and superintendent in construction and was a good mechanic, working on cars and motorcycles was his passion. He also tattooed and shod race-horses which he loved and took pride in.
He enjoyed being outdoors. Some of his hobbies included camping, hunting & fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was always joking and laughing. Children were drawn to him and he adored his grandchildren.
Dean is survived by his children, Colt McCauley, Richard McCauley, Stephen McCauley, Trevor McCauley, CatsyCane (Chris) Huber, Destanie McCauley, Faith McCauley; 14 grandchildren; mother, Elizabeth McCauley; his sister who was his best friend as a child, Tammy (Terry) Messersmith; sisters, Cindy McCauley, Heather Murray; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandee McCauley; brother-in-law, Lonny Murray; and his father Eugene McCauley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Central Park Ward Chapel of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 32 S State Street, Roosevelt.
