Rex Albert Rogers, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, and is free from pain.
Rex was a lifelong resident of Roosevelt, Utah. Rex grew up carefree, full of imagination, and creativity until the age of 13 when he had his first seizure. Slowly the seizures and medication challenged his body. Rex loved working with his hands. He built his first tree house when he was only 10 years old. Built a go cart with supplies gathered around the yard in his teens. He went on making replicas of childhood memories and creative gadgets from wood. He worked all year long in his wood shop making gifts for all of us for Christmas. Rex’s mode of transportation was an adult tricycle using his skills he built a large basket on the rear of it. He then was able to gather aluminum cans as a source of income. Later he purchased an electric bike, he added lights for safety and even a fan for summer cooling. He traveled long distances to visit his siblings regularly on the bike.
Rex lived independently for a time on State Street in Roosevelt. Until the house was burned down. That is when he had to move back home to his mother’s house in Hancock Cove. When mother’s health declined and the house needed to be sold, Rex moved to the Villa care facility in Roosevelt. Losing his independence was very hard for Rex to accept. Rex lived at the Villa care facility for approximately 15 plus years.
He is survived by his sisters, Jacqueline Stansfield, Julieann Rogers, Patricia Rogers Williamsen, Katherina Christensen, Valerie (Jim) Asher, and a brother, Robert A (Joanne) Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ray Arthur Rogers and Flora Idell
Tanner Rogers Elder; brother, Ronald Allen Rogers; and sister, Natalie Elder.
As a family we would like to thank all those that were involved in his care and all the visitors that came over the years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Hullinger Mortuary.
