Ralph Kay Ivie, age 75, of Roosevelt, passed away December 11, 2025, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1950, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Ralph and Dortha Fannie Mott Snyder Ivie. He married Susan Laura Thompson, and they later divorced.
Ralph owned and operated Ivie Construction Company from 1979, when he achieved his contractor’s license, to 2012, when he retired. In his younger days he worked at the Vernal sawmill and also ran the farm for Leon Ross. He had a passion for horses and enjoyed farming on his own place. Music was a big part of his life; he played the guitar, wrote songs, and in his early days, got together with his brother, Bruce, cousin, Jerry Ross, and they would play for hours. He really liked watching Western movies and reading Louis L’Amour books.
Ralph is survived by his children, Kent (Bobbie) Ivie, Roosevelt; Michael (Ashley) Ivie, Altamont; Tiffany Ivie (Bobby Davies), Roosevelt; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with two on the way; siblings, Ila (Jim) Starks, Colorado; Ruby (Clifford) Mehrer, Missouri; Craig (Evelyn) Ivie, Vernal; Cathy (Jack) Fillingim, Bluebell; Connie (George) Patton, Naples; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Payne; grandchild Sean Ivie; siblings, Bruce, Keith, & Gary Ivie; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Roosevelt Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Following the service, he will be cremated and the cremated remains will be interred in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
