Pauline Ann Fausett, age 61, completed her journey through this mortal existence January 3, 2026, at our family home in Roosevelt, Utah surrounded by brothers, sister, parents, nieces and nephews expressing their love to her as she departed on her eternal pathway.
Pauline began her earthly journey on June 16, 1964. She was born to Merlyn and Marilyn Cornpeach, of Whiterocks, Utah, as their third child and first daughter. During her early years, the Cornpeach family had some challenges, and the children were placed in foster care. Pauline, at the age of seven, came to the Fausett home where she grew up. When Pauline was twelve, her father passed away and the agency placed her for adoption. Bill, Louise and the boys were willing to adopt her and asked Pauline if she wanted to join our family permanently. She accepted our offer and so the process was completed and Pauline legally became part of our family.
She grew up working along beside her brothers on the farm and participating in 4-H (showing a hog and a beef). When she was fifteen, she along with all our family were excited to welcome a baby daughter and sister (Makele) to our home.
Pauline enjoyed sports and became good at basketball and softball. She played on Union High’s girls’ team and for some time held the record of most points scored in a basketball game.
Pauline was taught the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted them as truths. She was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As such, she participated fully in the Young Women’s programs and achieved the young women’s medallion.
She shared our home with many other foster children, some long-term and others for a short time. One was Janelle Bluebird from Lame Deer, Montana who joined us when she was a sophomore and remained through high school graduation. She and Pauline had a “sister relationship” and enjoyed being together.
Pauline attended Myton Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High and graduated from Union High School. Upon graduation she attended some vocational classes and completed an office course.
She left home and resided in the Salt Lake City area for a few years. Her brother Bardett was stationed in San Antonio, Texas in the Air Force. Pauline moved there with his family for a time. After he left, she remained in San Antonio for 18 years with a friend, Francis Estrada until the spring of 2024. She was diagnosed with non-alcoholic liver disease and was invited to return home to be near family and receive medical care from IHC and Huntsman Cancer Center.
Along with enjoying sports, Pauline became proficient with the skill of beading. Spending time with family, attending family reunions and visiting at the homes of her siblings was part of her life.
Upon returning to our home she rekindled her relationship with the Cornpeach family. Pauline and her younger brother Conrad spent many hours visiting other Cornpeach relatives, watching movies and laughing together. She became closer with her younger sister, Betty and often gave her “motherly advice” (which was not always welcomed). Pauline has two brothers she leaves behind; Alphonso (Irene) Cornpeach and Conrad Cornpeach, whom she loves dearly; sisters-in-law, Jessica & Irene Cornpeach; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many cousins. She was saddened by Betty’s passing with liver failure a little over a year ago. Her brothers, Raymond, Frederick, Ranjo; her biological parents, Merlin Cornpeach and Marilyn Jim, and her grandparents, have also preceded her in death.
Pauline’s Fausett family includes her parents, William M “Bill” and Louise K, brothers and sisters-in-law; Bardett (Annalee), Merrill (Jan), Tysen (Heidi), Kenyon; her sister, Makele Moore (Dave) and sister-in-law; Brenda Esplin. Numerous nieces and nephews who love her and whom she loves and enjoyed being called Aunt Pauline or “Polly” and many cousins, aunts and uncles both Fausetts and Kemps.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Sarah Ann and Kindee Louise; two brothers, William and Delayne K; and grandparents, Jesse T., Sarah, & Aleta Kemp, Elmer L & Merle Fausett.
Needless to say, but do so anyway, her departure leaves a vacant spot in many hearts and many tears shed. Until we meet again, as her families, we wish her eternal joy.
