Paul Cook Squire, age 76, of Roosevelt, passed away April 29, 2025, peacefully at the home of his oldest son.
Paul was born in Roosevelt, Utah, on November 8, 1948, to Spencer and Alice Cook Squire. During high school, Paul ran on the Union track team and also wrestled. He served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The England North Bridge Mission. Paul married SueAnn Betts on December 11, 1970 in the Salt Lake City Temple and had seven children. She died September 11, 2022.
Paul attended Utah State University earning a degree in Forestry. Paul faithfully served many years as the ward clerk and other church callings. Quiet strength is how his friends and family would describe him. Paul was humble, gentle and steadfast in everything he did. He loved being in nature taking pictures and finding wood to make lamps.
Paul is survived by his seven children, Kiora Kinckiner, Cris (Bridgett) Squire, Scarlet (Blake) Reynolds, Aaron (Karina) Squire, Shaleen (Jared) Moore, Oliver (Shallin) Squire, Jennalee (Alyx) Larsen, 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, wife SueAnn, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and great grandchildren TJ and Mileena.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a viewing that morning at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Following the services, he will be cremated. His cremated remains, along with his wife, SueAnn's, cremated remains, will be interred in the Tridell Cemetery at a later date.
