Paul Christensen

Paul N Christensen, age 95, of Talmage, passed away March 21, 2015, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born February 10, 1920, in Centerfield, to Marion Hyrum and Eva Johanna Andersen Christensen.  He moved with the family to the Uintah Basin in 1927 and worked on the ranch where he now resides.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed on Okinawa.
He married Leah Andersen Lindsay on June 10, 1939, in Duchesne.  She died March 10, 2007.
Paul was a rancher all of his life.  He worked on the Moon Lake Dam and in the Gilsonite mines in his younger days.  He really enjoyed hunting and fishing, and being in the outdoors.  He was an avid Utah Jazz fan.   He was a very good ice skater in his younger days and made flippers and willow whistles for the grandkids. He had a great sense of humor and was usually the one to start the water fights.
His children and grandchildren were his happiness and he loved them all.  His favorite times were spent with his family, whether it was in the mountains on a pack trip, at a picnic in the mountains or on the ranch.
Paul is survived by his children, Judy (Willard) Mathisen, Neola; Carol (Larry) Rasmussen, Duchesne; SueAnn (Terry) McKenna, Myton; Danny (Sharon) Christensen, Talmage; Matt (Barbara) Christensen, Talmage; daughter-in-law, Maxine Christensen, Talmage; son-in-law, LeRoy Warr, Roosevelt;  25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leah; a son, Newell Christensen; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Warr; great-granddaughters, Pyper Dahlberg and Alexis McKenna; sisters Lorna Jensen & Eva Jane Rowley; and brothers, Jess, Earl, Zane, Mike, Dee, and Benny; grandson-in-law, Joseph Page.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Moon Lake LDS Chapel in Mountain Home.  There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Talmage Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion.
