Pamela Rae Shunk, age 73, passes away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Duchesne, surrounded by family.
Pamela was born on July 1, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harlan and Doris Hall. She was 5th of 9 children. She grew up in Kearns, Utah, where she developed the caring and generous spirit that would define her throughout her life. She married Harry “Bill” Nye on June 20, 1970. They had three children. Later divorced. She married Timmy Lee Shunk on May 1, 1993.
Pamela was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and giving heart. She never hesitated to help someone in need and was always ready with a smile, a laugh, or a helping hand. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed trips to gamble in Wendover and have fun with those she loved. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love touched the lives of countless people.
Those who knew Pamela will remember her for her selflessness and the way she would help anyone who needed it. Her legacy lives on through the family she adored, the friendships she cherished, and the many lives she touches with her generosity and love.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Debra and Robin from Rocky Mountain Care for their kindness, compassion and care.
Pamela is survived by her daughters, Dana (Kurt) Wellard and Billie (Mike) Munoz, her son, Chad Nye; and her cherished grandchildren: Chance (Ashley) Grant, Dillen (Amberle) Grant, Destinee (Tanner) McMullin, Colby (Cailee) Grant, Conor (Maddie) Wellard, Alexis (Mitchel) Horrocks, McKyla (Matthew) Munoz, Autumn Munoz, Sam (Billy) Lamb, Stevie (Gabriel) Hahn, Preston Hales, Bentley Nye and Baylee Nye. She was also blessed with 22 great grandchildren and one great grandson on the way.
She is survived by her siblings, Michael Hall, Patti Nelson, Danny (Debbie) Hall, Jeffrey Hall, Tammy (Richard) Brown, and Cindy (David) Phillips, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Pamela was preceded in death by the love of her life, Timmy Shunk: her parents, Harlan and Doris Hall; her special bonus mom, Ruth; her sisters, Judy Williams and Nancy Shunk; and many other beloved relatives who passed before her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026 at 1:00pm at 2800 S Hampton Park Dr West Valley City, UT 84119.
Pamela will be deeply missed, forever loved, and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
