Orlando Copperfield

June 25, 1963 — July 30, 2022

     Orlando Copperfield, age 59, of Sandy, Utah, passed away July 30, 2022, at his home from a heart attack.
     He was born June 25, 1963, in Roosevelt, Utah to the Late Alfred Copperfield & Vernita Mae Tapoof. He was a companion for years to LaVerne Ice.  He married Rosa Greyeyes, and they later divorced. He married Holly McCook, and they later divorced.  He was raised also by his aunt the Late Marion Wall and uncle Alfred Wall Jr.
     Orlando worked for the Ute Plaza, Ute Petroleum in Myton, was a laborer for the Ute Tribe Housing Rehab, and recently worked for BD Medical as a Equipment Specialist/Machinery Operator at the Sandy Plant, and Foxconn in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed fishing, he was a sundancer, and he also sang with Red Spirit, Wanderers, Hilltop Ramblers and Chipeta Lake, he traveled abroad Indian Country and Canada for Powwows, sweats, Native American church events, and beardances. When he was younger, he played basketball. He graduated from Sherman Indian High School. He was a very compassionate and caring person, he loved his family, his relatives, friends, and acquaintances. He often called or texted just to check on you or wished you a happy birthday. He had respect for his Native American traditions and the Asian culture and community. His number one pastime was gambling – he was a Diamond card status holder in Wendover!
     Orlando is survived by his siblings, Ernest Copperfield, Chandler, AZ, Lionel (Shareen) Copperfield, Celina Pargeets, both of Fort Duchesne, UT, Leonis Copperfield, David (Rechelle Jackson) Copperfield, both of Chandler, AZ, Sheila (Colby) Bunting, Vernal, UT; uncles and aunts Adelbert Tavashutz, Joseph Tapoof, Willard Washington, Michael Jack, Anita Jose, Ginny Chimburas, Irene Chimburas, Phillip Chimburas, Marion Cuch, Dolly (Rosie) Cuch, Alfred Wall Jr., Ardonna Harmann; and many other relatives and a very good friend Vince Dillon, whom he regarded as a big brother.
     He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Erwin Copperfield, infant brother Alfred Copperfield, infant niece Shayleen Copperfield, nephew Christopher Copperfield; great niece, Azreyliah Redjacket, grandparents, Ernest Copperfield, Leonis Cuch Wash, Ethel Tapoof, Cecil Cornpeach, Ruth Quinn, Robert Cuch and uncles and aunts, Marion Wall, Lorna Bear, Sandy Pike, Calvin Washington, Colleen Redfoot, Cecelia Cuch, Stanford Cornpeach, Jeannetta Cuch, Kathleen Cuch, Mary White, Evelyn Tallbear, Bert Tapoof, Robert Tapoof, Leo Tapoof and numerous relatives.
     Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Community Building. There will be a wake at the Community Building on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 after 4:00 p.m.
    Burial will be at the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks.
