Oral Yvonne Timothy Dieter Clegg, Roosevelt; beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on June 28, 2025, with family. She was 89 years old.
Oral was born on November 14, 1935, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Lewis and Inez Reynolds Timothy. She was one of nine children, and grew up in the close-knit community of Maeser, Utah. As a young child, Oral was eager to grow up and couldn’t wait to attend school. She developed an early love of reading and writing poetry—gifts she carried with her throughout her life.
In 1953, she married Delvin Jerome Dieter, and together they built a home filled with love, family games, laughter, and purpose. They were blessed with seven children: James Andrew, Del Ray, Kevin Lee (who preceded her in death in 2013), Elizabeth D’Ann, Paul Eugene, Janet Yvonne, and Margaret Sandra. Delvin passed away April 3, 2009. They were sealed in the Vernal Temple on April 6, 2010.
Oral also carried in her heart the loss of five other children due to stillbirth and infant death—tender souls who were always remembered with love and sorrow. They left a lasting imprint on her and looked forward to reuniting with them in the spirit world.
Her greatest pride and joy were her children, for whom she worked tirelessly—cooking, cleaning, and creating a home where love and hard work were woven into the fabric of daily life. Her faith in Jesus Christ and her deep love for the Book of Mormon were the guiding lights of her journey. She lived her beliefs through service, always seeking out those in need—whether it meant giving away her own shoes or helping families clean their homes and do laundry with a wringer washer in her backyard.
After Delvin’s passing, Oral found companionship again and married Charles Marvin Clegg on November 7, 2012. Together they shared their love and testimony of Jesus Christ, and unselfishly cared for one another.
Oral’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, James Andrew (Nadine Nelson) Dieter, Roosevelt; Del Ray Dieter, Vernal; Elizabeth (Philip) Bova, Bonney Lake WA; Paul Eugene “Rex” Dieter, Roosevelt; Janet Yvonne (Raul) Carmona, Port Orchard, WA; Sandra Beath, Neola; 39 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Kunzler, St. George; Lewis Timothy, Maeser; Gayl Davis, Walnut Creek, California; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delvin; a son, Kevin; and infant children or still births, Gary Lewis, Laurie Abigail, Jerome Michael, Rickey Leon, and Susan Ray.
A special thank you to Oral’s caregivers—Nadine, Charla, Ashley, Cheryl, Jocelynn, and Lisa—who offered more than just help. They gave above and beyond with gentle care and heartwarming love. Their kindness in her final chapter will always be remembered with deep gratitude.
