Michael Norton

      Michael “Mick” Lane Norton, age 69 of Altamont, UT, returned to our Heavenly Father on August 4, 2024 due to natural causes related to existing medical conditions.
    Mick was born to Joseph and Mary Norton in Salt Lake City on December 28, 1954. Throughout his life, he enjoyed his various work in law enforcement and security, as a martial arts instructor, a cowboy, and a fortune seeker. Mick loved being a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother. He loved spending time with his Martial Arts friends, prospecting friends, and the many friends he made through his work with the Ute Indian Tribe and other endeavors. He was happiest when helping others and sharing his knowledge.
    He is survived by three sisters, Shari (Rich) Gibbons of South Jordan; Kitty (Vic) Naccarato of Draper; Jeanne (Calvin) Richens of Lapoint; children, Michaelle (Ammon) Slaugh of Fruitland; Andy (Justin) Shawda of Roosevelt; Mykka Norton of Altamont; stepchildren, Sharonna Houchin of Payson; Nat (Kathy) Houchin of Piedmont SD; Davien (Heidi) Houchin of Eagle Mountain; former wives, June Hirchert, Angie Goodrich; 21 grandkids; 17 great-grandkids; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts; and many friends who became his family as well.
    He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother, J. Andrew Norton, and granddaughter, Danielle Houchin.
    There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Altamont Stake Center at 1:30 on Monday, August 12, 2024.
