Michael Ruland Cardon of Bridgeland, Utah, passed away on June 28, 2024.

Mike was born to loving parents, Ruland and Susan Cardon, in Twin Falls, Idaho, on February 6, 1978. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University. As a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mike served faithfully in the Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission.

Throughout his life, Mike touched many hearts as an educator at Duchesne High School, where he taught for 13 years. Mike was proud to coach many sports of all ages-especially football and baseball. He often said that coaching was “part of who I am as a person.” He loved coaching and teaching the youth-but even more so, coaching his own children whenever he had the chance. In the fall of 2020, Mike took a position as the Supervisor for the Duchesne County Weed Department. He brought many new ideas to his work and loved working with the community.

Michael met Brittney Allred in December 2016. The two fell in love and were married on May 20, 2017, in Duchesne, UT. They both brought children from their previous marriages, Xander, Cannon, Jett, Roxton, Kingston (from Michael’s previous marriage to Sally Bird), and Brittney bringing her son, Tucker. Soon after, they were sealed in the Provo City Center Temple on August 25, 2018. Together, they welcomed two more sons, Daxton and Kelby.

Mike had a fun-loving personality, loved to tease, had a love for relentless dad jokes, a contagious smile and laughter that could fill up an entire home. He had a deep love for his wife and children. Michael had an unwavering testimony and faith in our loving Heavenly Father and set an amazing example for his family. Mike was known by many names, such as Elder, Coach, Mr. Cardon, loving son, brother, uncle and many more. However, his most cherished name of all, was husband and father. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Mike is survived by his wife, Brittney Cardon; sons: Xander, Cannon, Jett and Roxton Cardon, Tucker Bess, and Kingston, Daxton and Kelby Cardon. His parents: Ruland and Susan Cardon, sisters: Becky (Tony) Fenn, Regina (Barry) Floyd. Brothers: Timothy (Emilia) Cardon, and Brian (Jennifer) Cardon. Parents and siblings in law: Bart and Shelly Allred, Dustin (Marlaina) Allred, Jordan Allred, Hailey (Chris) Rowe, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who will love and miss him dearly.
