Melissa Allen, age 48, of Altamont, Utah, died June 27, 2024 in Roosevelt, UT after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Melissa was born November 19, 1975 in Denver, CO to Jim and Phyllis Price. She attended elementary and high school in Burlington, CO and later received her Bachelors Degree from Metro State College in Denver, CO.

She married Scott Allen June 20, 1998 in Burlington, CO. Scott and Melissa chased the oilfield for many years, creating a family and making a better life before settling down in Altamont, UT in 2007. She spent the rest of her life raising a family, becoming a SPED teacher at Altamont High School, and getting her Masters Degree in Special Education. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working with her students in her classroom, and going on family trips. She especially enjoyed chasing her 4 girls in their sporting events.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 26 years Scott, her daughters, Liley Marie (19), Reilly Anne (17), Caitlyn Lea (13), and Rebecca Rose (9), mother, Phyllis Price, all of Altamont; father-in-law, Jack Allen; mother-in-law, Gail Allen, both of Loveland, CO; brother-in-law, Jason Allen and his family, Eaton, CO; sister- in- law, Sarah Allen and family, Loveland, CO; and many, many friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jim Price, young baby brother, grandparents, Emil & Laura and Roland & Betty, and her aunt, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center. Viewings will be held on Friday evening at the St. Helen’s Catholicl Church from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 5 and Saturday at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. 

Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
