Max W Thacker

    Max Thacker, 70, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on December 16, 2019.
    Max was born May 6, 1949, in Salt Lake City, second son of James R & Imogene Wall Thacker. Max lived in Altamont, he met Diana Durfey in high school, they fell in love and married November 30, 1968.  They had three children.
    Max was a heavy equipment operator; his favorite was backhoes & scrapers. He spent one year in Alaska with his dad as a master mechanic.
    His greatest love was his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Max and Diana would talk and laugh about the cute things they said or did. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. The best hunting trip he took was in the Book Cliffs; he didn’t get an elk, but he had his wife, son, grandsons, granddaughter, great-grandsons, and great-granddaughter with him.
    Max is survived by his wife Diana, of Upalco; children, Kayleen Austill (Lee Stevenson), Altamont; Frank (Becky) Thacker, Pamela (Rob) Evans, both Arcadia; grandchildren: Zach (Michell) Austill, Teah (Manny) Bruns, James Thacker, Nicholas (Cynthia) Thacker, Dylan Thacker, Tyson Thacker, Wyatt Thacker, Destiny Evans, Cody Evans, Shawn Evans; great-grandchildren: Terry McCoy, Wyatt McCoy, Jaxon Thacker, Mikel Austill, Hunter Austill, Cabella Austill, Kason Bruns, KaLeah Bruns, Kruz Bruns, Mia Thacker, Roman Thacker; brothers and sisters, Evan (Sharon) Thacker, Bluebell; Denny (Doreen) Thacker, Altonah; Glenda (Robert) Hunt, Montwell; Randy (Debbie) Thacker, West Jordan; Valine (Laine) Norton, Bluebell.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother, Jesse Pete; son-in-law, Cory Austill, and grandson, Kory Keith Austill.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  There will be  a viewing on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
    Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
