Mary Essex

Mary Jeanette Essex, age 82, of Roosevelt, passed away August 16, 2015, at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 9, 1933, in Golden, Colorado, to Glenn Harris and Dosia Pauline Ducker Diltz. She married Robert Clarence Essex, on April 9, 1958, in Denver.
She worked for several years in long term care facilities as a caregiver and as the activities director. She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, being physically active and having fun. In her younger married days, she was part of a knitting and crocheting club that met every Wednesday. She loved her children and was a mom to everyone - she just made sure all were taken care of.
Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob, children, Sandy (Paul) Brass, Denver; Terry Essex, Roosevelt; Roberta (Roger) Waits, Houston; Kelly (Wayne) Smithey, Roosevelt; Robert Essex, Jack Essex, both of Dinosaur, CO; William (Donna Rae) Essex, Roosevelt; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Peggy Fackerell & Doris Lussier.
Her wishes were to be cremated, a memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
