Mark Kettle, age 78, of Ballard, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on February 16, 2026.
He was born in Ballard, Utah, to Marvin and Dorothy Kettle on Sept. 22, 1947.  At a young age he learned to love farming, working alongside his dad. After High School he went to Salt Lake Community College, where he graduated in Diesel Mechanics. He served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California.
Mark married his sweetheart, Meredith Adele “Mary” Thayer, on November 15, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled down in Ballard a half mile from where he grew up. He worked at Reidhead's concrete plant with his brother, Elvin, and brother-in-law, Stan Womack. In 1977, he and his brother Elvin started K&K Sanitation. He served on various boards for Ag and the County.
Some of his favorite joys included farming, hunting, gun collecting, joking, teasing everyone, boating, driving big trucks, and most of all, being with his family.  He never met a stranger, when you talked with him and walked away, you felt like you had a conversation with your best friend.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in many callings. No matter the calling, he served faithfully and magnified it. He loved to help the Missionaries and donated to the missionary fund.
His greatest accomplishment in life was his family, he loved each one dearly and each one knew it and felt it!
Mark is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; his children, Sam (Cindy) Kettle, Roosevelt, Utah; Lesa (William) O'Driscoll, Grand Junction, Colorado; Lora (Jason) Riley, Roosevelt, Utah; Julia (Tracy) Johnson, Kaysville, Utah; Al (Calli) Kettle, Roosevelt, Utah; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; a sister, Renee (Stan) Womack, sister-in-law, Marlene Kettle, both of Roosevelt; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy Kettle, 2 brothers, Don and Elvin, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Kettle.
Mark’s family would like to express gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and those who helped him at the Uintah Basin Infusion Center.
