Marcel Keith Bourque, age 35, of Roosevelt, the husband of Raydel Beath Bourque, passed away May 9, 2026, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Born on December 4, 1990, to Dottie Ann Reed, Marcel grew up in Myton surrounded by his grandparents, Robert and Jeanette Reed, along with many aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and lifelong friends who helped shape the incredible man he became. From a young age, Marcel had a deep love for the outdoors. Some of his best memories were made up Rock Creek — camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with the people he loved most. The outdoors were one of his greatest passions and always felt like home to him.
Marcel also found a love for sports early in life. Basketball and football became more than games to him — they were an outlet, a challenge, and a place where his determination and drive truly shined. He pushed himself to always be better and became an incredible athlete through his hard work and dedication.
Along the way, Marcel found lifelong friendships that quickly became family. Multiple families opened their homes and hearts to him, loving him as one of their own. What started as friendships turned into true brotherhoods that lasted his entire life. Those men were never just friends to Marcel — they were his brothers. Through every season of life, they remained by each other’s side, sharing countless memories, laughter, struggles, and love.
During high school,Marcel was welcomed into the home of Gail and Jimbo Fauci, who loved him as a son of their own. Their house was always full of laughter, energy, and a group of boys constantly keeping life exciting. Marcel made sure there were never leftovers in the fridge, and the memories made in that home became some of the most cherished of his life.
Marcel went on to attend Snow College, where he played college football before transferring to Dixie State University in St. George. It was there that he and Raydel began building the life they would share together. Later, they returned home to Roosevelt, Utah, where they created a beautiful family and welcomed their two greatest blessings, Rhen and Joanna Bourque.
Marcel took pride in hard work and gave everything he had in every role he carried. He worked in the oilfield, volunteered as a firefighter, and spent countless hours coaching youth sports. Coaching and mentoring others brought him so much joy. He loved teaching, encouraging, and helping people believe in themselves. Marcel had a way of making everyone around him smile. Anyone who met him quickly understood what an extraordinary man he was.
Above all else, Marcel loved his wife and children with his entire heart. Being a husband and father was his greatest purpose and proudest accomplishment. His family was his whole world.
When Marcel was diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma, he faced it the same way he faced every challenge in life — with strength, determination, and courage. He met every obstacle with a smile and treated every setback as another fight to overcome. Through every hardship, he never let cancer change who he was. He remained loving, outgoing, kind, and full of life until the very end.
Though Marcel’s time on earth was far too short at only 35 years old, he lived fully and loved deeply. He lived life exactly the way he wanted to — surrounded by family, laughter, hard work, the outdoors, and the people he loved most. His impact on this world and the people around him will never be forgotten.
That is why we will forever say Marcel won this fight. He won because this disease never broke the man he was. He won because he continued to love deeply through every hardship placed before him. He won because he inspired people with his strength, faith, courage, and light until his very last breath. Cancer may have touched his body, but it never touched his heart or soul. Today, Marcel is healed, whole, and home with Jesus, finally at peace and free from pain.
