Mahalia Checora

    Mahalia Resin Chum Checora, age 32, pf Ft. Duchesne, passed away on March 22, 2026 at the University of Utah Hospital.
    Mahalia was born December 17, 1993 in Roosevelt, Utah to Gregory Chauncy Checora, Sr., and Terry Marie Martinez.  She was raised by Jack and Delaine Sixkiller.
    Mahalia enjoyed watching the 49ers play football, mud bogging, listening to music, giving herself tattoos, wearing make-up and elephants.  She loved to travel, especially cruising, she had a beautiful voice, loved spending time with her family and always knew how to have a good time.  She loved to laugh, and make others laugh.    She is survived by her children, Kymmura McCook, Reina Checora, Ryker Checora, her parents, Gregory Checora, Sr., Terry Manyhides, and Jack Sixkiller.  She is also survived by her siblings, Grant Herbert Checora, Evander Cuch, KereeMarie Cuch, Eagle Cuch, Santana Cuch, Donciana Checora, and Justin Sixkiller.  
    She is preceded in death by her mother, Delaine Sixkiller, daughter, Turquoise Checora, and siblings, Gregory Chauncey Checora, Jr., Rainey Manyhides, Sukakee Manyhides.  
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.  A wake will be held after 4:00 PM on Wednesday at the same location.  
    Burial will be in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
