Loya Kay Brock, age 62, of Lapoint, passed away November 13, 2021, at her son’s home.
She was born March 6, 1959, in Roosevelt, to Jackie McKewan Brock and Madeline Martinez. She married Marcus Colorow, Sr., and they later divorced. She married Craig Bumgartner, and they later divorced. She married Clark Steele, and they later divorced. She married Romaine Harris, and he later passed away.
Loya was a talented beadworker who made and sold many beautiful pieces. She enjoyed gambling, hunting, fishing, camping, and cooking. She attended many Sun Dances and PowWows, and her real love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son Marcus Colorow, of Lapoint; grandchildren, Taunisha, Mercedes, & Marcos Colorow; Yasmine, Richard III, Tiaona, & Catron Curry; great-granddaughters, Hilliana Colorow, Breanna Poowegup; sisters, Jacquiline (Marty) Spoonhunter, Arapahoe, WY; Louella Brock, Ft. Duchesne; Rondina Brock, Lapoint; brothers, Darwin (Vonda) Brock, Lapoint; Clair Brock, Lapoint; aunt, Zelda (Benjamin) Murray, Lapoint; uncle, Ephraim (Jolita) Pawwinnee, Lapoint; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joyce Colorow, a grandson, Steven Ray Colorow, brother, Steven Gregory Brock, and grandfather, Charlie McKewan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. There will be a wake at Marcus Colorow’s home in Lapoint (10221 E 7000 N) after 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
Burial will be in the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks.
