Lorraine Allred

Reta Lorraine Tanner Allred, age 86, of Vernal, passed away July 2, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 10, 1929, in Myton, Utah, to David Hirum and Cora Romania Pierce Tanner. She lived all of her life except the last 8 years, (which were spent in Vernal), in and around Myton. She married Douglas James Allred on June 27, 1947, in Myton and they were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on August 14, 1992. He died May 12, 1995.
Lorraine was a meticulous and immaculate homemaker. She was organized, clean, and made sure her children were perfectly cared for. One of her neighbors once commented, "if I had to choose someone's floor to eat off of, it would be hers!" When her children were older, she went to work as a "lunch lady" at the Roosevelt Middle School. She worked there for 30 years until her retirement. Her favorite pastime was her yard and her garden. She had the most beautiful yard on the street.
She and Doug also loved to square dance and liked to travel around the country with their friends to various dances. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Primary for over 20 years, and with her husband as the facilities cleaning coordinators for the Myton LDS Church.
She was a wonderful and loving grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Jerry Douglas (Shannon) Allred, Duchesne; Alfred Wayne Allred; Karen Diane Price; Reta Sue (Joseph) Jamison, all of Vernal;
11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Betts, a brother, Max Tanner, both of Vernal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; granddaughter, Rachelle Jessen, brothers, Blaine & Gale Tanner; and a sister Jacquetta "Jackie" Tanner; son-in-law, Dale Price.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ashley LDS Stake Center (next to the Temple). There will be a viewing at the Hullinger Mortuary on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and from 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared at www.hullingermortuary.com
