Lorna Fontella Hackford

Our loving daughter, sister, and aunt Lorna Fontella Hackford, age 65, of Salt Lake City, passed away on September 19, 2019, from complications of Diabetes, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. 
She was born March 30, 1954, in Roosevelt, to Lewis James, and Cleo Renna Jones Hackford of Tabiona.  
Lorna was raised in Tabiona Utah and graduated from Tabiona High school. She was employed as a dispatcher in Duchesne, Evanston, and South Salt Lake police departments. She was also employed by the state of Utah Environmental Natural Resources until medical retirement.
Lorna enjoyed being around people and made friends easily. She loved to sew, needlepoint, read, and go to movies. She especially loved teaching primary at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even though she did not have children of her own, she loved and treated all of her nieces, nephews, and cousins, as if they were hers. 
Lorna is survived by her parents Lewis and Cleo Hackford, Tabiona; sister, Judy (Tom) Warren, Tabiona; brother, Johnny Hackford, Taylorsville; and several nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lou Ann, brother, Tab, and her grandparents, Curtis Jones and Jennie Jones Merkley, Melvin and Fontella Hackford.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Tabiona Cemetery.
