Lois Bleazard

Lois Reed Lyons Bleazard, age 91, of Mountain Home, slipped peacefully from our arms into the arms of her eternal companion on December 17, 2015 in Heber City, Utah.
She was born May 22, 1924 in Mutual, Utah, to Floyd Reed and Vay "Doll" West Lyons. She grew up in Mtn. Home, Utah, spending her summers on her parents' ranch on the river and the winters were spent on their homestead in Mtn. Home. It was here that she and her siblings learned to work hard and where they shared many memories of a simpler, happy life. She attended grade school in Altonah and Mtn. Home and graduated from Altamont High School.
Lois married Grant W. Bleazard on July 6, 1943 in Mtn. Home. Their marriage was solemnized December 9, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Grant died June 22, 2004. It was her testimony of the gospel and her eternal family that gave her comfort during the last few months. She served as organist or chorister for many years in the Moon Lake Ward. She also taught Sunday school and served in the Relief Society.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was so proud of her family. She enjoyed working side-by-side with her husband on the ranch, feed yard and later their oil business. As she said, "Grant and I have had a good life together. It hasn't always been easy but we have been truly blessed. I only hope we can grow old together."
Lois loved music especially playing the piano. She loved to quilt and made sure her grandchildren were welcomed into this world with beautiful baby quilts. She loved fishing and sports especially the Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies. She was an amazing cook. We will miss her homemade bread, chokecherry syrup, lamb roast, chili sauce and carrot pudding. And the grandkids will miss her Christmas candy.
She spent the last three years in Heber City to be near her daughter but her heart never left Mtn. Home.
She is survived by her children; Ross (Laura) Bleazard, Montana; Susan Reay, Canada; Sandra (Doug) Swasey, Boneta; Jill (Kevin) Winterrose, Heber City; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; her brother, Phil (Jeanine) Lyons; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Lyons and Rhoda Stanwood and a nephew, Steve Orton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grant; two grandsons, Dwayne Reay and Brandon Bleazard; sister and brothers, Connie, Floyd and Ned.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Moon Lake Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held at the church in Mountain Home, Monday the 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service.
Interment in the Mountain Home-Boneta Cemetery. Special thanks to Sante Assisted Living.
