Lillian Eschler

Lillian Gerber Eschler, age 93, of Roosevelt, passed away July 8, 2018 at the Sr. Villa.
Lillian was born May 16, 1925 in Montpelier, Idaho to Christian and Margaritha Schlunegger Gerber.  She married Dennis Charles Eschler in the Logan LDS Temple on October 22, 1947.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and loved to serve others.  She was a wonderful mom to her two boys and spent many hours helping them with homework, feeding them, and caring for their every need.  Roger loved when she would get down on the floor and play marbles with him.
Lillian lived in Montpelier until she married Dennis, they lived in Raymond Idaho the first few years of their marriage, then moved to Logan where they raised their two boys.  In 1990 they moved to Roosevelt where they have lived for the last 28 years.
She and Dennis could often be seen in their kitchen making fudge, cookies, or their special carrot cake; which they would then share with their family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers.  Lilly had some very special talents, the family loved listening to her as she played beautiful music on her organ.  This was a special talent as she couldn’t read a single note, but could play most anything by just listening to the music.
She loved doing word searches and especially delighted in playing games like Dominoes and Sorry with Dennis and her other family members.
Dennis and Lillian’s years together has been a True Love Story!  For the past ; 2 ½ years, every single day Dennis would travel up to the Villa to spend the day with his sweetheart Lilly.  She was the light of his life, they truly have shown to their family, and others, enduring love and devotion.  Often they would be found praying, reading scripture, or just holding hands.  What a special Eternal Love.
The family would like to thank the sweet staff and residence of the Villa for the kind ways they have treated and taken care of both Lillian and Dennis.
We love our sweet Mom and Grandma, and are so grateful for her example to each of us.
She is survived by her sweetheart, Dennis Eschler, son, Roger (Norene) Eschler, all of Roosevelt; grandchildren, Edwin (Angela) Eschler, Roy; Rachelle (Stephen) Cook Sidney (Leah) Eschler, Drew (Stacy) Eschler, Quentin (Megan) Eschler, all of Roosevelt; Milton (Katie) Eschler, Yukon, OK; 19 great grandchildren and sister, Ruth Esterholdt Julian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Marvin G. Eschler siblings, David, Julia, Clara, Gladys, Bernice, Freida, Nelda, Edna, Irene and a baby sister.
