Leslie Marie Wallace, age 62, of Roosevelt, Utah, passed away at her home on May 28, 2026, after a long and difficult struggle with mental health challenges. Her death is a heartbreaking loss for her family and friends, who share this openly in the hope of honoring her truth and helping break the stigma surrounding mental illness. While Leslie faced battles that were often unseen by others, she was so much more than those struggles. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, resilience, resourcefulness, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Leslie was born on August 31, 1963, in Murray, Utah, to Lester and Carole Shepard Wallace. During her childhood, the family lived in both Salt Lake City and California before spending time at Defa's Ranch in Tabiona, where many of Leslie's fondest memories were made. The family eventually settled in Duchesne, where she was raised and graduated from Duchesne High School in 1981.
That same year she married Roy Liddell in Duchesne, later moving to Roosevelt. Together they had 3 children before divorcing. She married Jarrod Bolton in 2003, gaining a stepson and bonus family before also divorcing.
Throughout her life, Leslie was known for her strong work ethic and versatility. She worked as an insurance agent, housekeeper, and operated her own daycare for several years. She later became a loan officer and retired from Mountain America Credit Union before spending her later years as a landlord. Throughout her working years, Leslie formed many lasting friendships that she cherished deeply.
Leslie had a creative spirit and a knack for repairs. She enjoyed spending time on the lake, camping with her dog, Marshall, and expressing her artistic talents through drawing, decorating and rehabbing her homes, sewing, stained glass and landscaping. Friends and family often described her as a “MacGyver” for her ability to fix or improve anything. She loved music and found joy in the simple things- a cup of coffee, lunch with friends, naps in the sun, and spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Marshall; her children, Russell Liddell (Camille Lusty) of Vernal; Miranda Liddell of Roosevelt; and Haily (Prentice) Dart of Roosevelt; her step-son, Gage (Kyzlee) Bolton of Roosevelt; granddaughter, Fallon Dart; her mother, Carole (Harold) Gibson of Roosevelt; her brother, Quinn Monsen of Bluebell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends—many of whom became family by choice.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Wallace.
Per her wishes Leslie will be cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1:00pm at The Grace Events Center 1024 W Hwy 40, Roosevelt Utah.
Leslie's family hopes her story will serve as a reminder that mental illness can affect anyone and that asking for help is a sign of strength. They encourage friends and loved ones to check in on one another, offer kindness freely, and seek support when needed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local mental health or suicide prevention charity in Leslie's honor, helping others find the support and hope they need during difficult times.
