Laurie Davis

Laurie Ball Allen Davis, age 60, passed away December 4, 2015 unexpectedly from complications of health problems at the American Fork Hospital.
Laurie was born on April 22, 1955 in Salt Lake City to Nathan Durfey and Ruth Ball Allen. She spent her childhood and teenage years living in the Uintah Basin, on the family farm in Pleasant Valley and later in Roosevelt. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She married Nick Ray Davis, later divorced.
Laurie attended Weber State and also Utah State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. She had a great love of learning and became a teacher to help pass that love on to children. She taught at Myton Elementary for several years.
All who knew Laurie can attest to her love for reading. She loved books from the time she learned to read. She could spend countless hours reading a good book. Laurie enjoyed sharing this love with others, always giving a book as a Christmas or birthday present. She also had a fondness for music, movies and the arts.
Laurie had a passion for helping others. She was always known to cheer for the underdog.
Her greatest pride and happiest moments were with her daughter and son-in-law, Brittney and Jeremy and grandchildren, Cade and Cambree. Laurie loved her family and her nieces as if they were her own daughters. Laurie always provided an open home and a place to stay for all her nieces and any visiting family without a second thought.
We will miss her quick wit and spunky attitude, more than she could ever know.
Survived by daughter, Brittney (Jeremy) Wilson. Grandchildren, Cambree and Cade Wilson. Siblings, Francine (Butch) Fenn, Vicki Kynaston, and Bruce (Becky) Allen. Nieces, Kim (Darwin) Holloway-Brown, Keeley (Darin) Blackhurst, Kaisa (Kelly) Norton, Melissa (Dennis) Ericksen, and Tanya (John) Gough. Special life long friend, Jane Monks Osborne. Beloved cat, RumpleTeaser Longtail.
Preceded in death by parents and brother-in-law, David O. Kynaston.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
A viewing will be held at the Hullinger Mortuary from 11:00 - 11:40 a.m.
