LaDoris Taveapont

    LaDoris “Dorie” Taveapont, age 54, of Whiterocks, passed away April 7, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
    She was born June 22, 1963, in Roosevelt, to Frank Taveapont and Angela Checora.  She attended Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City where she was a cheerleader.
    She was together with the love of her life, Manuel Lucero, for 28 years before his death on January 14, 2018.
    LaDoris was a very spontaneous and fun person.  She rode horses in her younger days, her favorite to ride being “Yellow Mare.”  She also enjoyed traveling, going to Wendover, attending Sundances & Bear Dances, and going to music concerts with her children.
    She survived by her children, Kendra Lucero (Jeremiah Hodges), of Whiterocks; Megen Bell (Redd Rock Serawop), Ft. Duchesne; Jaron Taveapont, Whiterocks; Brandy Christensen (Anthony Mendez), Ft. Duchesne; Holly Lucero, Julian Lucero, both of Whiterocks; Loua Thayer Bell, 12 grandchildren; step-son, Jeremy (Jennifer) Gayler, Vernal; mother, Angela (Dale) Shavanaux, Ft. Duchesne; brother, Sterling “Pete” Taveapont, Ft. Duchesne; sisters, Ena (Eli) Chapoose, Gusher; Raylayne Checora, Coonsville; a half-sister, Leona Taveapont; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
    She was preceded in death by father, Frank; grandparents, Velman Johnson & Lula Redcap Myore Johnson; brother, Blake Taveapont; sister, Ruthann Serawop; son-in-law, Uriah Greyeyes; and the love of her life, Manuel.
