Kwiana Sahkvf Howell, age 35, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away June 22, 2022, at his home.
He was born September 17, 1986, in Salt Lake City, to Henry Kwiana Howell and the late Patricia Lynn Joseph.
Kwiana was a good wrestler in Jr. High and High School and was a good horseman throughout his life. He was an excellent artist, a talented traditional Fancy Dancer, sang with Red Spirit Drum Group, and participated in the Sundance. He enjoyed fishing, teasing everyone, and joking around – he had a good sense of humor. He was kind and friendly and really liked people. He attended Traditional Ceremonies with his family.
Kwiana is survived a daughter, Autumn; his father and step-mother, Henry & Dondie Howell, Ft. Duchesne; siblings, Natalia (Lehi) Nephi, Lapoint; Alice Howell, Ft. Duchesne; Maelena Howell, Talon Tohtsoni (Shayla Mathias), both of Auburn, Washington; Dawee, Princess, & Niachiich Howell, all of Ft. Duchesne; aunt, Dalene (Lloyd) Miller; uncles, Dan (Christina) Howell, Gordon Howell; and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; grandparents, Percelina & Henry Lee Howell; Hank “Bear Boy” LaRose; Myra Copperfield, Leslie Brown; Michael Gardner; Delores Arrowchis; great-grandparents, Alice & Dwight Copperfield; aunts, Julie Howell, April Gardner; uncle, Parker Redfoot; an infant brother, Dwight Talkingwolf Howell; and a cousin, Draven Nez.
Teepee services and final viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Henry Howell’s residence in Ft. Duchesne, 211 Little Chicago Road. There will be a wake after 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Howell residence.
Burial will be in the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks.
Feast will follow the burial at the Whiterocks Community Building
