HERE Kenneth Kirk “Kay” Santio, age 51, passed away on June 7, 2024 at his home in Ft. Duchesne.
Kirk was born September 1, 1972 in Vernal, Utah to Kenneth Tahreep and Nataline Maxine Chapoose Santio.
Kirk enjoyed traveling, drawing, cooking, dancing, listening to music, attending family gatherings and delighted in spending time with his nieces and nephews. In his younger years he attended culinary art school.
Kirk loved the history of the Native Americans, he would travel, finding new information about the Ute Tribe and other tribes. Kirk believed in being proactive and advocating for good things. He helped improve many things through the years because of his efforts. During the last few years he tried to help others understand how important it was to take care of your health and the importance of understanding diabetes.
Kirk is survived by his siblings, Marquist Santio, Andrade (Ruby Dayzie) Santio, Sr., Lionel Tahreep, Lucus (Sharlisa) Santio, Melanie Johnson, Natashia Santio (Eric Welsh), Reno Tahreep, Connora Lou Chapoose, his cat, Prince, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Nataline Santio, sister, Augustina Santio, nephews, AJ, Victor, Brooks, niece, Angel, and a great nephew, Cimarron.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Hullinger Mortuary. Gathering of family and friends will be held at his home on LaMesa Drive on Monday night.
Burial in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery with a luncheon following at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.
