Carrie Kathlyn Thayne Brotherson, age 74, of Altamont, passed away November 28, 2015, at the Uintah Care Center.
She was born April 9, 1941, in Salt Lake City, to Harry Alma and Carrie Taylor Thayne. She married Bert Darwin Brotherson on January 1, 1963, in Boneta. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Bert died June 19, 2005.
Kathlyn worked hard on their dairy farm and took care of the home. She loved life and she and Bert were never far apart. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and visiting the neighbors in the evening after the chores were done. In her later years, her life revolved around anything to do with the grandkids. She was very loved and will be deeply missed.
Kathlyn is survived by her children, Wayne Brotherson, Vernal; Marilyn (Frank) Winn, Altamont; Shanna (Biff) Braman, Vernal; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Taylor (Gail) Thayne, Talmage; Guy (Joyce) Thayne, Mountain Home; Johnny (Debbie) Thayne, Altonah; James (Holly) Thayne, Roosevelt; Bob (Carrie) Fausett, Talmage; Diane (Dan) Alexander, Kentucky; Ellen Lewis, WY; and her aunt & best friend, Colleen Justice.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bert; parents, Harry and Carrie, sisters Sheila Sawyer, Gail Fausett, Gwendolyn Thayne; and two infant grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Lake Fork LDS Chapel in Mountain Home. There will be a viewing at the Hullinger Mortuary on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
