Karine Bancroft

Karine Kofford Bancroft, age 88, of Orem, Utah, passed away on May 16, 2023, of natural causes.
    She was born February 6, 1935, in Utahn, Utah, to Jansena Christina Olsen and Hyrum Emanuel Kofford. She was their 13th child. 
    Karine married Bobby Bancroft on May 28, 1954, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 12, 1967. They were married for nearly 64 years. Bobby passed away on February 20, 2018.  Karine and Bobby went on to have six children and over 150 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 
    Karine loved going shopping, especially at Target, but while she was at stores, she enjoyed organizing shelves.  She was an avid bargain/clearance shopper. She enjoyed giving gifts to her loved ones and even people she didn’t know, and always had a present for everyone and no one went without. She was a collector of snowmen, birdhouses, decorative frogs, and coffee mugs. She donated hundreds of Beanie Babies to B.A.C.A., and they thanked her by having dozens and dozens of bikers show up at her house, and even gave her a ride on a motorcycle. She fancied sitting at the kitchen table drinking her tea and watching the birds outside the window. 
    Karine is survived by her sister, Coleen Kofford Tucker; daughters, Betty (Dave) Jones, Kathy (Jim) Johnson, Marlene (Jerry) Kelly; sons-in-law, Terry Barnhart and Randy Rasmussen.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Bancroft; son, Bobby Bancroft; daughters, Teresa Barnhart, Callie Rasmussen; two grandsons, Christopher & Brandon Boyd; one granddaughter, Shannah Shurtz; and four great-grandchildren.
    There will be a viewing and graveside on Monday, May 22, 2023, beginning at 12:00 noon at the Strawberry Cemetery in Duchesne, Utah.  
    The family would like to express gratitude to Yarrow Hospice and Brightworks Parkway Villa for their care of Karine.
